How Trey and I Spent His Last Day of Spring Break

Yes, I am that bored (and lack any ability to write something more compelling at the moment). Bored is probably the wrong word choice, because I have plenty I *could* be doing. So, just to finish off Trey's week with a bang, we had a full morning of FUN. First we went to Trader Joes (grocery store, for those not lucky enough to have this little gem), and bought stuff for dinner tonight, and some beverages (because you can't beat Trader Joe's for great, well actually just cheap, wine.) We also bought enough apples to make at least four apple pies- not sure why, but if the boys want apples, they get apples. And lots of yogurt- Trey's choice.

We then made our way to Hollywood Video where we rented some movies. We gave up renting movies awhile ago, because we always forgot to turn them back in, and with the late fees we decided we are probably better off just buying movies. But, as this is the year of frugality, we are back to renting them. The boys picked out "Bee Movie", which somehow we missed in the theater. We also replenished our supply of popcorn- what's a movie night without popcorn- splurging a bit and buying the Bucket O' Butter (or something like that).

We fed Jake, and sent him off to school, and then Trey and I went downstairs for an hour or so of Wii Dance Revolution. You aren't living until you've played this game with a 3 year old. He has no clue what he is doing, but seems to have a great time doing it. We also watched the psycho bird for awhile (because again, to an almost 4 year old this is really entertaining). He's going to be sad to go back to school and miss all this excitement.

Yes, how do you raise the price on that?? I remember a few years back when people were going in and buying cases of it. I don't see as many people doing that these days- maybe they've realized you can spend a dollar or two (of four) more and get something better-LOL.

Now, now. Just because Trader Joe's wine is cheap doesn't mean it isn't good. I can point you to some good bottles. Feel free to check out my blog. The Top 10 of Feb (http://jasonswineblog.com/2008/03/03/trader-joes-top-10-wines-of-february-2008/) is probably a good place to start! The March listing is right around the corner as well...

I'll give you the La Boca Cab.(at $3 ish a bottle). It's highly drinkable. But, beyond that,I'm not sure. I'll have to visit your blog :)

Had that one (http://jasonswineblog.com/2008/02/08/2007-la-boca-cabernet-sauvignon/) and wasn't fan. At that price I like the Chasing Clouds Shiraz (http://jasonswineblog.com/2008/01/20/2004-chasing-clouds-central-ranges-shiraz/).

Thanks for the info! I'll take your suggestion. I saw that the La Boca was not thought highly of- I guess from my perspective, for $3 something it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been, but if there is something better than I'd love to sample. I've never had a good bottle of wine for less than $7-8 :)

I am with you on the rentals...blockbuster got rid of the late fees now they just charge you for the video. So now we do netflix. You dont have to do anything accept stick it in an envelope and put it in your mailbox and they magically send you your next movie. Great system!
