We've reached a whole new level of BAD...

and I don't mean that in a GOOD Michael Jackson kind of way. Jake had his 5year checkup (yes, he's actually closer to 6, but in Melissa adjusted time, we're right on schedule). He is tall, big, healthy, and horrible. Literally I don't think he could have been worse (at least I hope not). The doctor wanted him to stand straight and touch his toes, and he kept sticking a foot out, so we'd have to start over. He was supposed to look towards the light for the eye check, and he kept looking everywhere else in the room. In between all that he would try to karate chop his sister and brother. I was ready to wring his neck, but no, he survived. Barely.

The worst part of the visit was that we saw a doctor who I actually knew from back in the day (college...) He dated one of my best friends in college, and I was all ready to play the "I finally figured out why you look so familiar" game, but was almost too embarassed- Almost. I did it anyway, and we tried to have a conversation in between the kids all running around like wild animals. It was fun. But, Jake now is up to date on immunizations, so he can start Kindergarten- that's the only saving grace.

Of course, as I was looking at everyone's shot records I realized Delaney needs a chicken pox booster or she can't start on Tuesday- bummer. Guess I'll have to drag everyone back in tomorrow :)

Oh my, Melissa, this is why we use the internet and not the telephone...you and I are in the same boat, only you have more of "them" than I do **grin**
love it

Oh, due to the sensitive subject matter, I'll only allude to what happened to me yesterday. Picture this...me, my business partner, Brook, and a male branch manager of the bank in an office. Brook spots my open purse w/femine products visible. Luckily he didn't hear the inappropriate comment that came out of her mouth, because he was talking to my partner...but I did. But ME...the master of diversion, saves the day but not before sweating bullets over that one!ugh! kids...what fun.

Oh no!!! Funny (now...not then, I'm sure). You gotta love 'em, right???

By the way, in retrospect, two is such a nice number-LOL.

I can barely handle my two kids, and they're both under the age of three! You deserve a medal for getting four kids into- and out of- the doctor's office without losing your mind!

The return visit was a small bit better, but I'm glad we're done for now!
